Amman - Today, The Canadian Embassy in Jordan together with the Jordanian Armed Forces and IOM, launched an initiative in support of enhancing border management in Jordan. By upgrading border infrastructure, technologies and accommodation facilities for the Jordanian Border Guards, the project will help in improving protection for those who reside in Jordan.

“By strengthening border management capacities and facilities for the Border Guards, this important project will contribute to improved integrity and safety of Jordan’s borders,” said Tajma Kurt, IOM Jordan Chief of Mission.

This initiative builds on years of extensive close cooperation and partnership between IOM and the government of Jordan in the field of migration governance and border management. It demonstrates the continued support of the international community to Jordan and the excellent collaboration among stakeholders within the framework ofIOM’s humanitarian border management programming.
