“Each household would need at least 5 JDs daily which we cannot afford, so the cash assistance helped us immensely, before the assistance we were not able to buy certain food items.”
Unconditional and unrestricted cash assistance provides refugees with more flexibility to sustain their basic needs. Beneficiaries can decide how to spend the money and feel more empowered. With the U.S. Department of State: Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration funding, IOM Jordan provided monthly cash assistance to over 3,000 individuals for nine months between October 2021 and June 2022.
